காலத்தி னாற்செய்த நன்றி சிறிதெனினும் ஞாலத்தின் மாணப் பெரிது. (Kaalaththi Naarseydha Nandri Siridheninum Gnaalaththin Maanap Peridhu.) This Thirukural verse of Saint Thiruvalluvar means "A timely help offered exactly when needed, though may be small but will be regarded as huge as the world.
I am sure we all give help, take help from fellow human counter parts. Most times it is the giver who feels affected. At times it even makes us wonder why do we have to help others? Why to do something and then feel pity that we are not given the respect we deserve? I can summarize it in very simple terms.
1.Help someone only when needed and make sure if it is really urgent and important.
2. Think thrice before helping anyone, even your best friend.
3. If the work is simple enough that the seeker can do it, don't do it.
4. Help here means genuine reasons. Don't think the small works that your friends may ask you such as going to shop, borrowing your bike or things like that. That is not counted as help at all. Again do it or avoid it. Your wish.
5. Beware please that your help might turn down someone's life totally. You never know. So always think of the consequences before saying yes.
6. Say Yes only when you are sure you will do it. That is a mark of you being a genuine helper. The word Yes is a weapon. Don't use it in favour of wrong and selfish people.
The more you think and help the more your place will remain in the other person's heart. You will leave a mark.

Well said Naren, but I don't agree with you on this. As you are aware, I am really not happy on the way humanity is progressing and I am not sure, if the words sorry and thanks exist, there by I would like to say, we do our part and not expect anything in return, just like the devine being. saved a lot of trouble.
ReplyDeleteNaren, what u said is 100% true in today's world. One of ur friends used a term divine being,if we really believe ourselves to be one,so i totally feel its our responsibility to protect our own identity and self respect.Ya we have to just give and not expect.Help the poor, destitute, orphan and old & don expect. Then The All-pervasive will feel happy too. There is a phrase in telugu Apatradanam mahapaapam which means helpin those who doesnt need help genuinely is equal to sinning as told by sri krishna in the Gita.Good write Naren. :)
